On Monday, September 14, 2026, the Colorado Rolling Rapids and four starting players from the Colorado Rapids MLS team — Wayne Frederick, Kosi Thompson, Georgi Minoungou, and Jackson Travis — met at the Gold Crown Foundation sports complex in Lakewood for two games of good old-fashioned power soccer. Teams arrived at 6:00 PM for a fun, entertaining night with my power soccer music playlist playing in the background.

Warm-up and 1v1s
Since all four Rapids players were far less experienced in power soccer than we were, my dad decided to teach them some basic rules and pointers. He also let everyone take turns 1v1ing each other to get used to the Strike Force chairs. After that, we all did a few drills to warm up before the first scrimmage.
I definitely felt I wasn't performing at my skill level in the first half of the first scrimmage, which affected my mental game. But luckily in the second half I calmed down, stopped trying to play a perfect game, and started having fun. Listen — I'm just a player who plays better with no pressure and against more respected opponents.
Scrimmage 1: Rolling Rapids 5, Rapids 0
All four Rapids players were very surprised by how sensitive the chairs were and how much thinking it actually takes to get the right touches and position themselves correctly. Georgi seemed to have the most control of the chair and was better than the others at positioning, though he still managed to get one or two red cards like Wayne and Jackson did. Kosi, however, was the worst of the group, getting at least three or four red cards.
In the first scrimmage, my dad (Coach Brian) coached the Rapids to make it slightly fairer, since he is more experienced and can see what we do. Despite this, Coach Richard led us to a 5–0 victory in a twenty-minute game. The game was a blowout — but not the kind we wanted. Still, it was fun playing the Rapids and seeing them play like a bunch of bronzes in Rocket League ;).
Scrimmage 2: mixed teams and chaos
For the second scrimmage, my dad switched two of their players to our team and two of our players to theirs. That meant Jack and I had to face Levi and Dom, which still fell slightly in our favor. Jack and I pushed forward and still managed to get four goals in the first half. Georgi scored three of our goals, and the third one was a great goal — even though I was so confused about who my teammates from the Rapids were, since they were all still wearing their blue jerseys after the switch. My kick-in was a little winged because I thought Georgi was playing on their team. I decided to kick it to Jack but ended up missing Jack, and it worked as a great way to fake Levi out. It was a cluster and chaotic mess; however, it wasn't as chaotic as the second half.
In the second half of the second scrimmage, my dad decided it was a great idea to put me with the Rapids as a five-player team. Defense was definitely easier, but generating an offensive attack and moving down the court was harder. Once again, Levi tried to be a menace that half, but since the Rapids were playing very tight, they stopped him. In the end, the score was 4–1, going to Jack, Dom, Georgi, Kosi, and me — I think.
Chairs, cameras, and interviews
Besides the two scrimmages, the coolest thing about this event was that we actually had enough Strike Force chairs for everyone to play in. Last time we only had, I think, five or six chairs. That made it much more fun to watch them try to spin-kick the ball and make some passes.
The second really cool thing was that Richard brought in a guy to record and document the event. Caitlin Kinser and Annie Kelly also brought in a news film crew to record us playing and interview everyone after the games. The interview was short and sweet, but it didn't stop us from smack-talking the Rapids players a little ;). My favorite player was Georgi because he had a leader vibe and was very nice.
Thank you
We are all very thankful to the Rapids for having the opportunity to come back and play against us. Events like these help bring attention to the whole power soccer community — and to us.
