INSIDE POWER SOCCER

Four athletes per side. One ball. Full speed. Zero assistance on court.

Power soccer is played on a basketball court with a 13-inch soccer ball. Athletes attach metal footguards to their power chairs and use them to pass, block, and shoot. It's the only team sport where power chair users compete entirely under their own control.

4 vs 4

Two teams of four power chair athletes battle on a basketball court with a 13-inch soccer ball.

Full Speed

Chairs hit 6+ mph. Reflexes sharpen, heart rates spike — this is real, competitive sport.

100% Independent

No guides, no helpers on court. Every pass, block, and goal is 100% the athlete's own.

All Ages

Kids as young as 5 and adults of every age compete locally, nationally, and internationally.

RULE HIGHLIGHTS

The Court

Played on a regulation basketball court. Goals are 6 meters wide. A 13-inch soccer ball is used.

Teams

Four players per team on court: typically 2 defenders, 1 midfielder, and 1 forward. Unlimited substitutions.

The 2-on-1 Rule

Only two defenders may be within 3 meters of the ball and their goal line simultaneously. This creates fast breaks and strategic play.

Scoring

Goals must be scored from contact with the footguard attached to the chair — not hands or lap.

Speed Limits

Chairs are speed-limited for safety, typically around 6 mph, but the action feels full-throttle.

Fouls & Spinning

Spinning (rotating more than 360° without the ball) and dangerous play are penalized. Free kicks restart play.
